Shield

This late 18th - early 19th-century shield from the museum's collection is made of steel in hammering technique.
The main decoration of the convex central part of the shield is the round and eight ovoid-shaped ketebes. The round ketebe is enhanced with a Kufic inscription, while the rest depict the hunting and feast scenes, warriors' images. The four attachments remind the flower petals. The border in the form of calligraphic inscriptions completes the composition with the perfect combination of the art of drawing, ornamentation, and calligraphy.
