Exhibition National Heritage Living in the Masterpieces of Azerbaijani Art is open in Bishkek
On April 21, the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts named after Gapar Aitiev held the opening ceremony of the exhibition National Heritage Living in the Masterpieces of Azerbaijani Art organized within the framework of the Days of Azerbaijani Culture in Kyrgyzstan. Adil Karimli, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Gulbara Abdikalikova, First Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy, Latif Gandilov, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Kyrgyzstan, as well as ambassadors of Iran, Pakistan and Uzbekistan to Kyrgyzstan and cultural figures of Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan and other ditinguished guests participated in the event. Murad Huseynov, Deputy Minister of Culture and his Kyrgyz counterpart Gulbara Abdikalikova delivered speeches where they underlined significance of the Days of Azerbaijani Culture in Kyrgyzstan.
Following the symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony of opening of the exhibition, Amina Melikova, the Director of the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum, provided the guests with detailed information about the exhibits presented in the Carpet and Patchwork Exhibition section.
It should be noted that the exhibition features pile and flat-woven carpets, carpet products, artistic metalwork, embroidery samples dating from the 19th century to the present day, preserved in the collection of the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum and private collections. The exhibition also displays handmade works by People’s Artist Eldar Mikayilzade and patchwork master Khalida Nasirova.
