26 June became a national holiday in our country 23 years ago in accordance with the Decree signed by the national leader Heydar Aliyev on May 22, 1998. This year, we celebrate this historic day with special joy and pride. The sacred land of Karabakh has been liberated from occupation owing to the victorious leadership of Ilham Aliyev, Supreme Commander-in-Chief and bravery of our glorious army. Our army thanks to its heroism, military training and professionalism, honorably fulfilled its duty to the Motherland and restored historical justice.
We heartily congratulate our people, our victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, the soldiers and officers of our glorious army, who gave us the joy of victory and wish them good health and a lifetime of happiness. We bow our heads to the memory of the martyrs who gave their lives in the battles for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
