The Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, the first parliamentary republic in the Muslim East declared its independence on May 28, 1918. Although the Republic existed only 23 months it had a deep impact on the history of our statehood.
It is encouraging that our state that regained its independence at the end of the 20th century and based on the traditions of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, the first independent, democratic, secular republic among Muslim countries, is experiencing a period of prosperity and is turning into a leading country in the region under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, a worthy successor to national leader Heydar Aliyev.
We are proud to be citizens of such a powerful state and wish our independence to be eternal!
