Tahir Salahov, a great master and famous public figure has enriched our national art treasury with his incomparable creativity. Being one of the founders of the severe style, the master has made a significant contribution to the development of Azerbaijani painting and played a huge role in the promotion of our culture in foreign countries.
As an innovator and creative person, the outstanding artist also contributed greatly to the traditional carpet weaving art. His amazing paintings were transformed into carpets opening new pages of his creativity. Many of those works of art have taken their rightful place in our museum's permanent exhibition.
The Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum offers its deepest condolences to the family of Tahir Salahov and all art lovers. May the great master rest in peace.
