The specialists from different fields of art, the heads of the public organizations for support of people with disabilities, and the directors of Karabakh museums participated in the conference. Sevda Mammadaliyeva, Deputy Minister of Culture delivered a speech during the online meeting. She conveyed congratulations from Anar Karimov, Minister of Culture and wished success to all museum workers, who provided invaluable services in protecting our tangible culture. She informed that the Ministry is currently working on the restoration of museums and museum branches in Karabakh, liberated by the glorious Azerbaijani army under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. Dr Shirin Melikova, Director of the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum noted that the museum constantly develops cooperation with different communities. The video conference outlined the Creative Azerbaijan program organized and managed by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The meeting continued with the presentations of participants and exchange of views.
Along with the online meetings, the ANCM organized the intellectual game What? Where? When? on the museum topic on May 18, 19:00. 22 teams connected via Zoom answered questions on arts, world museums, carpet weaving, and the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum. Karabakh team became the winner of the game.
The series of events ended with the online concert program coincided with the Night of Museums and hosted by the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum. The concert program included performances by rock and jazz bands as well as solo performers: Etude Band, Seymur Aliyev Trio, Milan, Mikhail Altukhov, Joseph Abbas.
What? Where? When? intellectual game and the concert streamed online on the museum’s social media pages.
It should be noted that International Museum Day was established at the initiative of the ICOM since 1977 and is aimed to promote cultural exchange and cooperation between peoples. This year’s theme is The Future of Museums: Recover and Reimagine.
