Delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran visited the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum

The delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran led by President Masoud Pezeshkian visited the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum. Bahruz Emrani, the former Chairman of the Research Center of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, and Hamid Kazemnia, Chairman of the Board of the Kazemnia Cultural, Artistic and Educational Foundation and carpet expert attended the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum within the visit.
Amina Melikova, the Director of the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum, provided the guests with detailed information about the history and activity of the museum during the meeting, which included carpet experts and other employees. She also told about activities aimed to preserve and revive the carpet art. Hamid Kazemnia emphasized that carpet weaving is more than just an art form, it is the language of peace and expression of identity, memory and solidarity of the nation. During the meeting, the importance of strengthening mutual cooperation in the fields of culture and tourism, as well as expanding bilateral ties, was noted, and corresponding proposals were put forward.
The delegation donated a flat-woven carpet to the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum. Amina Melikova presented the guests with the book Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum.
Later, the guests got acquainted with the Traditional Technologies Department and Conservation and Restoration Department of the museum.
