Dr. Shirin Melikova, Director of the ANCM visited France 

Dr. Shirin Melikova, Director of the ANCM paid a 10-day visit to France at the invitation of the Maison des Cultures du Monde (House of World Cultures) of the French Center for Intangible Cultural Heritage under the French Ministry of Culture.This international organization makes significant contributions to the promotion of intangible cultural heritage and the protection of cultural diversity, organizes special programs for those working abroad and playing a role in establishing cultural ties with France. Taking into account the close cooperation of the ANCM with French cultural institutions, this year Dr. Melikova represented Azerbaijan within a special program developed in accordance with her field of activity.According to the profile of the ANCM, Shirin Melikova got acquainted with the exhibitions and collections of museums operating in Paris, Lyon, and other cities of France, restoration centers, decorative and applied arts and textile centers using ancient methods. Her program included visits to the world-famous Louvre, The National Conservatory Workshop for Lace performing the most beautiful lace embroidery, and the Mobilier National's carpet and tapestry laboratory preserving the unique collection since the 17th century. These institution's managers and officials, as well as representatives of the French Ministry of Culture, organized meetings and discussed issues of mutual cooperation. All these are important in terms of expanding Azerbaijani-French cultural relations in the future, developing cooperation and joint projects with French museums, and creating new opportunities for their implementation.
