On January 28, the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum will host the exhibition World of Colorful Tapestries. Tamilla Abdullayeva’s Solo Exhibition.
The exhibition displays more than 50 tapestries, carpets, carpet sketches, series Butterflies, Trees, Ancient Azerbaijan Symbols, Elements of Nature, and Four Seasons, floral compositions, and abstractions designed by the prominent tapestry and carpet artist between 1990 and 2022.
The serene, pacifying, and harmonious compositions, the skillful placement of the elements, and a warm, pleasing, and rich color scheme created in various weaving techniques will immerse the viewer into the artist’s imaginative world. She usually works without a sketch and relies on her artistic ideas and improvisation.
Tamilla Abdullayeva perfectly combines colors and ornaments in the displayed Islimibandlik, Afshan, and Sakhsida Guller carpets continuing L. Karimov’s creative tradition.
The exhibition reflects the artist's delicate taste and a romantic soul. The project includes lectures, a meeting with the artist, master classes on tapestry weaving, and thematic tours.
Exhibition runs until February 25, 2022.
