This Friday, December 3, the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum will host Craft Without Borders fair exhibition dedicated to the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The event is organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Culture Committee of the National Assembly, the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum, the GulSam Union of Rehabilitation Center of Disabled People, and the Visually Impaired People Society of Azerbaijan.
The fair exhibition will feature the paintings, carpets, and other decorative and applied art samples made by persons with visual impairment, mobility impairment, and hearing loss.
The event will also include the presentation of the tactile object presented to the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum by the State Hermitage Museum. This is a replica of a felt fragment found at the Pazyryk burial mound.
Following, the museum’s Children’s Department will organize masterclasses for the children with physical disabilities.
Notably, the ANCM is the first inclusive museum in our country that works to create a truly comfortable space where one can learn as much as possible about the valuable aspects of its collection.
