Let's learn more about the zili carpet of Karabakh that will be on display.
Karabakh zilis were woven mainly in the carpet weaving centers of Aghjabadi, Barda, Lambaran, and Jabrail. Their composition resembles a chess pattern. These carpets are distinguished by their large size and warm-toned coloring. The main decorative element of the carpet's central field consists of repeating medallions with a stylized image of an owl inside. The border is adorned with a rhombus element, which symbolizes eyes and fertility.
