This carpet is on display at the exhibition Carpet Art. Evolution of Meanings in the Kazan Kremlin, Manege exhibition hall.
According to the legend, the name of the carpet is associated with Gasim (Gara Gasim), the name of the ancestor of the same name tribe, the son of Abdulkarim, an Iraqi Turk from Kirkuk, who called himself Teke-Turkmen. Such carpets were mainly woven in the settlements of Shamkend, Kurdhadji, Chorman, Shalva, Arikli, Pichenish, and others near village of Gasimushagi.
The large medallion decorates the middle of the central field. There is an element inside the medallion popularly called khoncha. A gubpa (dome) element adorns the bottom and top of the medallion.
