Exhibition Kitabi-Dede Gorgud – 12 stories, 12 carpets

On February 13, 2016 the Azerbaijan Carpet Museum hosted an exhibition Kitabi-Dede Gorgud – 12 stories, 12 carpets.

The exhibition was organized according to the Decree dated February 20, 2015 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of 200th anniversary of the translation of the epic and its distribution in scientific sphere by German scientist-orientalist Heinrich Friedrich von Diez. At the exhibition were displayed 12 carpets, symbolizing 12 stories from the epic. Moreover, on national instruments was performed folk music.
